“Infinity Edge,” MSU-IIT’s team, grabbed the top spot in the Best Game app category in the 2012 Xtreme Java: National Inter-school Mobile Application Development Challenge.
Doubly gratifying was the MSU-IIT’s dominance over the University of the Philippines, host DLSU, and established computer schools like STI and AMA Colleges.
The team, being one of the first ten to publish their apps, received a Nokia C3 for qualifying in the finals. Each member received a Nokia Asha 303 while the team won a cash prize of Php20,000.00 including a trophy.
Joining the team composed of 4th year CS-software engineering students were Kieth Mark Bandiola, Novo Niño Naga Dimaporo, and Jan Michael Vincent “Noodles” Tapulgo. Mentor Professor Haroun Al-Raschid Christopher P. Macalisang accompanied the winning team.
The challenge hosted by the De la Salle University (DLSU), in association with Nokia, was held last June 20, 2012 in Manila.
