Prof. Dr. Ludwig Paul Ary Evert Streit, a world-renowned expert in Infinite Dimensional and Stochastic Analysis, conducted a course lecture entitled “An Introduction to Infinite Dimensional and Stochastic Analysis” to the graduate students of the Department of Mathematics & Statistics (DMS) for the entire month of November 2017.

Prof. Streit is a Mathematical Physicist affiliated with the Bielefeld Bonn Stochastics Research CEnter of the University of Bielefeld, Germany as well as the Centro de Ciencias Matematicas University of Madeira, Portugal. He is a member of the Academy of Science in Lisbon, Portugal since 2016 and is awarded with an honorary professorship from MSU-IIT in the year 2013. Prof. Streit has made significant contributions in the fields of Quantum Field Theory, Quantum Mechanics, Nuclear Physics, Theory and Applications of Stochastic Processes, Infinite Dimensional Analysis, Complex Networks and Polymer Physics. Currently, he is supervising a PhD Mathematics student of the Institute in the work of automorphisms generated by umbral calculus on a nuclear space of entire test functions.

His visiting professorship, which is duly funded by DOST-Accelerated Science and Technology Human Resource Development (ASTHRDP) Program, facilitates exchange of scientific ideas, provides opportunities for new research directions for DMS and creates another significant international linkage for CSM. As part of Prof. Streit’s itinerary, he also conducted a 2-day training in infinite dimensional calculus at Caraga State University, Butuan City on November 13-14, 2017. In attendance were some faculty members from MSU-IIT and the prospective collaborators from the CARAGA region.
