College of Arts & Social Sciences
The College of Arts and Social Sciences is one of the six colleges in the Institute and has six degree offerings and service departments namely: (1) Department of English, (2) Departamento ng Filipino at Ibang mga Wika, (3) Department of History, (4) Department of Political Science, (5) Department of Psychology, and (6) Department of Sociology; and one service department, the Department of Philosophy and Humanities.
The College has been recognized by the Commission on Higher Education as Centers of Development in Filipino, History, and Sociology. All of its programs have also been granted Level IV Accreditation by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities (AACCUP).

The College of Arts and Social Sciences is one of the six colleges in the Institute and has six degree offerings and service departments namely: (1) Department of English, (2) Departamento ng Filipino at Ibang mga Wika, (3) Department of History, (4) Department of Political Science, (5) Department of Psychology, and (6) Department of Sociology; and one service department, the Department of Philosophy and Humanities.

Our Programs
The different undergraduate programs of CASS aim to develop graduates who are change-makers and demonstrate the Institute core values of commitment, excellence, teamwork, integrity, accountability, transparency, and participation.
At present, the College of Arts and Social Sciences offers ten undergraduate degree programs, two of these are Bachelor of Science degree programs. Its BA in History program offers two tracks: the Philippine-Asian History Track and the International History Track.

BA in English Language Studies
Bachelor of Arts in English Language Studies combines theory and practice in the learning, teaching, and use of English in various contexts in and outside the Philippines. It aims to improve the quality of English skills and presentations in diverse situations, conceptualize frameworks to address language-related real-world issues, and work collaboratively and productively in diverse teams demonstrating cultural sensitivity and global perspectives

BA in Filipino
Batsilyer ng Sining sa Filipino ay lilinang sa kakayahan ng mga mag-aaral sa wikang Filipino; magpapalawak sa kaalaman sa interdisiplinaryong pananaw sa pag-aaral ng Filipino; lilinang sa malikhain at kritikal na pag-iisip upang makapagsagawang mapanuring pananaliksik na makapagpapaunlad sa disiplinang Filipino; at makapagbukas ng oportunidad para sa praktikal na aplikasyon ng mga kasanayan at kaalamang natamo.

BA in History (Philippine-Asian History Track)
The BALCS program is designed to produce graduates with a heightened sense of culture, along with sharpened critical thinking skills, imaginative expressions, and innovations across languages and cultures. The graduates are expected to lead in the significant domains of the academe, government, publishing, mass media, entertainment, diplomacy, marketing communication, service industry, and cultural industry—all spheres interfacing with the culturally exposed and literature-trained.

BA in History (International History Track)
Bachelor of Arts in History presents a distinctive and flexible opportunity to develop a greater understanding and broader knowledge of the foundations of historical studies and the processes shaping the contemporary world.

BA in Panitikan
Batsilyer ng Sining sa Panitikan ay isang interdisplinaryong larang na nagbibigay ng pagkakataon sa mga mag-aaral na mapaunlad ang kanilang kritikal na pag-iisip sa pamamagitan ng pagsusuri sa iba-ibang produktong kultural na pananaliksik.

BA in Political Science
Bachelor of Arts in Political Science exposes students to the dynamics of politics and governance, including the history and forms of political institutions, international relations, and socio-environmental problems. Students of the AB Political Science program will be knowledgeable in the study of governments, political behavior, and political policies.

BA in Psychology
Bachelor of Arts in Psychology program applies the concepts and theories of psychology to the analysis of human behaviour and mental processes, develop skills for self-reflection and independent learning, and cultivate harmonious interpersonal relationships. These programs prepare students for licensure exams and post-graduate studies in Psychology, Medicine, and Law.

BA in Sociology
Bachelor of Arts in Sociology combines theory and practice to provide grounded learning for critical and multi-dimensional perspectives in analyzing social behavior and processes and allows students to contribute to the production, transmission, and application of knowledge through research and engaged scholarship.

BS in Philosophy (Applied Ethics)
Bachelor of Science in Philosophy Major in Applied Ethics is a unique program in Mindanao, where the focus of study is Applied Ethics in a Bachelor of Science curriculum. Applied Ethics is a sub-discipline of moral philosophy that uses philosophical analysis to look at the ethical issues that arise in various professions and human endeavors.
