Once again, the TEENPRENEUR: Iligan City Youth Entrepreneurship Congress and Patigayon Awards has taken flight for the second year. Held last October 16-17, 2018 at the MSU-IIT Gym with congress speakers in the name of AISA MIJENO founder of SALT, RAVEN DURAN founder of XDevs Technologies, and JOMARTHY LERASAN Youth Focal Person of MSU-IIT MPC, the event had an estimated participants of 900 Senior High School and College students from all over Iligan City and Lanao del Norte.

TEENPRENEUR 2018 was divided into two major events, the Youth Entrepreneurship Congress and the Patigayon Awards. The Youth Entrepreneurship Congress tackled Grassroots Innovation, Youth Technopreneurship, and Financial Literacy with speakers Aisa Mijeno founder of SALt, Raven Duran founder of XDevs Technologies, and Jomarthy Lerasan Youth Focal Person of MSU-IIT MPC respectively. Aisa shared her experience on pioneering Sustainable Alternative Lighting (SALt) through a lamp powered with saltwater. Raven explored on technopreneurship by setting an example through XDevs Technologies a technology innovations company that builds products and solutions to seamlessly improve the lives of individuals and communities. Lastly, Jomarthy upheld Youth Empowerment through Financial Literacy and Savings Program.
Patigayon Awards on the other hand focused on three activities namely, awarding of the Iligan Youth Business Choice of the Year, Iligan Young Entrepreneurs Testimonial, and awarding of the Iligan Business Idea of the Year. The Iligan Youth Business Choice awardees include Delecta Diner and Café for Best Restaurant; Frapella Crib for Best Snack House; Librew for Best Study Hub; Infinitea for Best Milk Tea House; Sulen for Best Coffee Shop; Wild FM for Best Radio Station; and ABS-CBN for Best TV Station. During the Iligan Young Entrepreneurs Testimonial, three esteemed young entrepreneurs from Iligan City shared their entrepreneurial journey namely, LOIS GRACE POSITOS owner of Nanay Sue’s Healthy Shack, SHEKAINAH MARZO owner of LaagPH, and SHEILA ERMAC owner of Frapella Crib. Champion of the Iligan Business Idea of the Year Product Category is Traveller’s Pillow from Christian Horizon School and Champion of the Iligan Business Idea of the Year Product Category is GoFer You from La Salle Academy.

TEENPRENEUR is an extension program of the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA), MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology, in active partnership with Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Education Iligan City, Negosyo Center at MSU-IIT, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension and iDEYA: Center of Innovation and Technopreneurship with the support of the Local Government of Iligan, MSU-IIT Multi-purpose Cooperative, Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation of Iligan Inc. and JCI Iligan Maria Cristina to mainstream entrepreneurship among the youth whilst enriching their holistic experience through relevant programs in innovation and entrepreneurship.

With an estimated 900 Senior High School and College student participants from all over Iligan City and Lanao del Norte, TEENPRENEUR: Iligan City Youth Entrepreneurship Congress and Patigayon Awards 2 is another feat for the College of Business Administration and Accountancy.
