The College of Education held its 14th Pinning and Moving Up Ceremonies of student teachers on September 18, 2019 at the MSU-IIT Gymnasium with theme “Innovation and Sustainability Through Transformative Leadership”.

The program opened up with the processional march of student teachers with their parents, the faculty, Top Management Representatives, and the Guest Speaker from the Department of Education, Iligan City Division.

Assistant Dean Juliet C. Tero welcomed the participants to the program and presented the 110 student teachers for deployment to the different public schools in Iligan City. Dr. Ruben L. Abucayon, Director for Undergraduate Studies, conferred the pre-service teachers to perform practice teaching in the real world of work.

Dr. Feliciano B. Alagao Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance delivered his inspirational message, representing the Institute Chancellor.

The student teachers received their pins from their parents and recite the Teachers’ Pledge, Prayer and Choral Acclamation ‘I am A Teacher’ led by Anabelle Joy Cimafranca, Joshua B. Dandoy, and Sweet Marie B. Villasan, respectively.

Dr. Rizalina G. Gomez, Student Teaching Coordinator, introduced the Guest Speaker Dr. Erlinda N. Basmayor, Senior Education Program Specialist, Social Mobilization and Networking.

Haila Salic Hairulla, Grade VI pupil from Iligan City North 1 Central School and Maigela Zia L. Garcia of the MSU-IIT IDS, gave the Words of Challenge which were accepted by Lovely Faith S. Cambaya and Donnamay R. Richardson, student teachers.

Airis Mae C. Damoag, Student Teachers Organization President and Vice President Joji D. Daguio, presented the Tribute and Song to Parents. The Student Teachers Coordinator gave the Closing Remarks, followed by the singing of the Himno ng Pamantasan.  Joneil B. Medina and Jireh P. Solis served as masters of ceremonies.

CED conducts its 14th Pinning and Moving Up Ceremony for Student Teachers

THE COLLEGE of Education successfully conducted its 14th Pinning and Moving Up Ceremony for Student Teachers at the Institute Gymnasium last week.

The ceremony which had the theme: Innovation and Sustainability through Transformative Leadership saw 110 student-teachers move to the next stage of their journey as future educators. 

The guest speaker of the September 18, 2019 ceremony was Dr. Erlinda N. Basmayor, Senior Education Program Specialist of the Department of Education – Iligan City.

The ceremony signals the start of bigger opportunities for learning as the student-teachers will be deployed to different schools in Iligan City for their Practice Teaching endeavors. It also signifies the acceptance of the challenges of the profession in the future.

Dr. Feliciano B. Alagao, Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance, expressed his gratitude to the student-teachers for choosing the Institute to help them become educators.

“You create the foundation of every meaningful journey of every person who dreams to be more,” Alagao said.

The event concluded with a tribute to the Parents led by Airis Mae C. Damoag, President of the Student Teachers Organization.
