Prof. Lemuel Clark P. Velasco and student Julian Pedro Daga-ang Jr. of the School of Computer Studies presented their startup project in an exhibit at the Livelihood Exchange (LIVEX) Philippines 2015 held at the SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang, Davao City on August 19-20, 2015.

Their project, the “Citifier”, is a local business directory of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) verified and registered business enterprises under the categories: food, stay, party, and shop.

Velasco and Daga-ang displayed a mock-up prototype of the project since. Aside from the presentation of the output, one objective of the exhibit is to meet investors who could possibly provide the resources to develop the project, Velasco explained.

Through the Institute’s involvements with the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Council of Iligan, Velasco and other delegates from the ICT Council of Iligan represented the city.

Although IIT is still a neophyte in ICT startups but this opportunity will not be the first time for IIT Velasco said.

Plans for copyright are in place as soon as Velasco and Daga-ang are able to come up with an actual output after the making and submission of a prototype.

The LIVEX Exhibition is only one of the series of associated events organized by various private sector ICT organizations that seek to convene stakeholders in taking advantage of the livelihood and business opportunities brought about by integration.
