The College of Arts and Social Sciences is one of the six colleges in the Institute and has six degree offerings and service departments namely: (1) Department of English, (2) Departamento ng Filipino at Ibang mga Wika, (3) Department of History, (4) Department of Political Science, (5) Department of Psychology, and (6) Department of Sociology; and one service department, the Department of Philosophy and Humanities.

The College has been recognized by the Commission on Higher Education as Centers of Development in Filipino, History, and Sociology. All of its programs have also been granted Level IV Accreditation by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities (AACCUP).

In 1985, the College of Education was established by virtue of the MSU Reorganization Plan through Special Order no. 885. With five departments, and highly competent and dedicated faculty members, CED has, through the years, become a leading school in ICT integration, garnered achievements and distinction as Center of Excellence for Teacher Education (awarded by the Commission on Higher Education), and is among the top performing schools in the Philippines in the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET).

The college has a strong undergraduate and graduate degree programs in information and communications technology and computer sciences. The college is committed to excellence in teaching, research, and extension. We aim to provide students competitive and quality educational programs and trainings through our many degree programs and activities in research and professional services.

The College of Science And Mathematics houses the Departments of Biology, Physics, Statistics & Mathematics, and Chemistry. It is equipped with various facilities to compliment research and enhance the students’ learning experiences.
