MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology (IIT) has improved its standing in the ranking of top universities in the Philippines, moving two notches up in the Webometrics Ranking Web of Universities: July 2020.
MSU-IIT now ranks 8th in the list of Philipine schools in the Webometrics ranking. It was in 10th place last year.
The Webometrics Ranking Web of Universities is an initiative of a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas, the Cybermetrics Lab. This is the largest public research body in Spain.
According to the Webometrics site, the Cybermetrics Lab analyzes Internet and Web contents especially those related to the processes of generation and scholarly communication of scientific knowledge. Using quantitative methods, it has designed and applied indicators that allow them to measure the activities on the web.
The Institute’s website is ranked based on four indicators: presence (5%), visibility (50%), transparency (or openness) (10%), and excellence (or scholar) (35%).

“I am proud and I am thankful for the work and dedication of the good women and men of MSU-IIT!” said Chancellor Sukarno D. Tanggol when he learned of the news.
MSU-IIT ranks #1320 in Asia and #3472 in the world.
