Another feat marked the history of the Cisco Academy Program of MSU-IIT as it officially launched St Peter’s College as a Cisco Local Academy in a Graduation Ceremony for “IT Essentials: PC Hardware and Software Trainer’s Training” on February 5, 2010 at the SPC-AVR . Fourteen successful trainees received their respective course completion certificates conferred by Dr. Emmanuel M. Lagare, Legal Main Contact of MSU-IIT Cisco Regional Academy and the current Vice President of Academic Affairs of the MSU System.

Speaking before the trainees, administration, and members of the faculty and students, Dr. Lagare emphasized that “with the collaborative efforts between MSU-IIT and St. Peter’s College , we can promote ICT in our city through the Cisco Networking Academy; hopefully to ensure an increasing number of globally-competent workforce in ICT fields as we address the demands from the Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) industries in Iligan City”.

Initiated by Mr. Freddie Sumangit, Dean of the College of Computer Science, the said training was held in an 80-hour rigid lecture, exams, and hands-on laboratory activities and online examinations, and conducted under the able and enthusiastic trainers, namely: Prof. Ernesto E.
