The Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) MSU-IIT Local Chapter continues to bring honor to the Dakilang Pamantasan after being hailed as the Overall Champion during the recently held 26th Annual Regional Convention at Cagayan de Oro City last February 23-25, 2018.
This is the local chapter’s fourth consecutive win after successfully bagging the championship trophies during the 15th Midyear Convention, 25th Annual Regional Convention as well as the 16th Midyear Convention.
MSU-IIT JPIAns displayed exceptional intelligence and talents as they compete with other colleges and universities of Region X and Caraga in various academic and non-academic events.
For the academic events, Mariale Mich Solatorio and Yvonne Therese Rico won 2nd Place in Cup 1 (Financial Accounting and Reporting), Nurlailah Ali and Anna Reham Lucman won 3rd place in Cup 2 (Advanced Financial Accounting and Reporting), Christine Mae Lagumbay and Nurlailah Ali won 3rd place in Cup 3 (Management Advisory and Control), Jean Claire Polancos and Noralyn Macawali won 1st place in Cup 4 (Regulatory Framework for Business Transactions), Carl Vencent Niñofranco and Eva Rhema Bagona won 2nd Place in Cup 5 (Auditing), Jean Claire Polancos together with Frances El Bequilla won 3rd Place also in Cup 5 (Auditing), Kimberly Anne Lavilla and Angel Mae Facunla won 1st place in Cup 6 (Taxation) followed by Anna Reham Lucman and Jere Mae Taganas who landed at the 2nd place, Carl Vencent Niñofranco and Jere Mae Taganas won 3rd place in Cup 7 (All Board Exam Subjects) and MSU-IIT won as the Overall Champion for the academic events.
For non-academic events, MSU-IIT’s bet, April Queen Piedad, won 1st place in The Voice JPIA. MSU-IIT also won 1st place in Chalk Art, 1st place in JPIA Live Band, 1st place in RFJPIA Debate Cup with Bai Djanemah Macabangkit and Joshuan Jan Jumawid as the Best Speakers, 1st place in Mixed Volleyball with Rhynvyll Bartolaba as the Most Valuable Player, 2nd place in Mixed Badminton and the Overall 1st Runner Up for the non-academic events.
For the Yearend Awards, the Office of External Affairs garnered several recognitions for their socio-civic programs including the Best Local Chapter Project for the LAMDAG TUDLO: Learning Accountancy Matters, Best Local Chapter Activity- Social Involvement Category for PROJECT AMBAG, as well as the Best Local Chapter Activity- Leadership Category for the 1st MSU-IIT JPIA Leadership Seminar and AKAY JPIA.
MSU-IIT JPIA was also awarded as an Outstanding Local Chapter, Sheena Cuizon as an Outstanding Local Chapter President, Carl Vencent Niñofranco as an Outstanding JPIAN and Charles Flores as the Most Outstanding JPIAN for Region X and Caraga.
The whole local chapter is very thankful to the Department of Accountancy, the College of Business Administration and Accountancy and most especially the MSU-IIT administration for their endless support to the endeavors of the organization. MSU-IIT JPIA is inspired to further uplift the name of the Institute in its vision to promote academic excellence and community involvement.
