Graduates of the Institute’s College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) who took the October 2013 Licensure Examination for Certified Public Accountants (CPA) once again proved their mettle when they posted a passing rate of 90 per cent against the national passing rate of 40.84 per cent based on results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

This fete earned for the Institute the recognition to be one of the top three performing accountancy schools in the country, the only one outside the Luzon area, to make it to the list which requires 50 or more examinees to get at least an 80 per cent passing rate.

The University of the Philippines placed first with a passing rate of 98.81 per cent; De La Salle University – Manila came next with a passing rate of 92.86 per cent closely followed by MSU-IIT with a passing rate of 90 per cent.

Fourth place went to the University of Santo Tomas with a passing rate of 89.65 per cent while the Bicol University-Daraga took the fifth place with a passing rate of 85.94 per cent.
