Six MSU-IIT faculty members were paper and demo presenters at the concurrent sessions during the Third National ICTs in Basic Education Congress held at the Waterfront Hotel, Cebu City last September 10-11, 2008. The theme for this year’s congress was “Teaching the Net Generation: Curriculum, Pedagogy and the Challenge of the 21st Century Learning.” The congress was organized by the Department of Education (DepEd), Foundation for Information Technology Education and Development, Inc. (FIT-ED) and the University of the Philippines – Open University (UPOU). The faculty members from the College of Education and Integrated Developmental School presented the following: Prof. Amelia T. Buan performed a demonstration entitled “Web 2.0 for Learning” and a lecture on “Intel Teach Essentials Course Online”; Dr. Sonia M. Alensub presented her paper entitled “Project-Based Learning Made Easy”; Ms. Shelanee Theresa P. Peralta together with Celia T. Adriano of UP presented their paper entitled “A Survey of ICT Integration in Teacher Education Institutions”; Ms. Rhea D. Febro and Prof. Esmar N. Sedurifa presented their paper entitled “Development of an e-Learning Course on ICT Integration for Secondary School Science Teachers”; and Mr. Louis Mark N. Plaza presented his paper entitled “GuhIT 2008: A Project-based Approach to Teaching Digital Literacy.”
