The MSU-IIT through the College of Nursing (CON) and the Sendong Dynamic Response Team (SDRT) assisted the A.L.I.V.E. (Always Live In Victory Everyday) Foundation, a charitable arm of Alliance in Motion Global (AIM Global). These organizations were in Iligan at the Institute gym last January 19, 2012 to conduct a medical mission and to distribute relief goods for Sendong survivors.

A.L.I.V.E., a Filipino network marketing company that exclusively distributes products of Nature’s Way based in Utah, USA, responds to “the needs of our fellow Filipinos in times of disasters and natural calamities.”

The mission led by AIM Global President and CEO Dr. Eduardo “Ed” Cabantog and his wife, A.L.I.V.E. co-founder Dr. Connie Cabantog, served about a thousand survivors, some of them University constituents.

The team joined eight physicians from Manila. Two of these doctors, Dr. Citadale Loberanes-Lubguban and Dr. Muhammad Putting, MSU-IIT physician, are distributors of the company. Joining this mission were faculty members of the CON, Miss Karen Veloso (SDRT Medical Team coordinator), Miss Agnes Torres, and 13 student volunteers.

The Foundation donated most of the medicines although some were sourced through the SDRT from United Laboratories, Globe & Singtel, Lingkod Bayan, First Valley Bank, and other donors.

The Foundation also conducted medical and relief operations at the Kauswagan Central School in Cagayqan de Oro City for 2,350 school children survivors who also received school supplies.

Prof. Maria Belen Hinacay of the College of Arts and Social Sciences and her husband, both leaders of AIM Global Iligan, organized the Iligan event.
