To help improve ICT integration in classroom instruction, Prof. Virginia Sombilon’s MathEd 290 class conducted a Seminar-Workshop on the Development of Micro-Lessons at the CED ICT Laboratory and WorldLinks Training Center on March 7-8. 2009.

The forty (40) participants, comprised of 3rd year BSEd Math students and MSciEd students from MSU-IIT and in-service teachers from MSU-Wao Community High School, MSU-Naawan, Maria Cristina Central School, and Labinay National High School, were taught how to develop micro-lessons and how to create interactive web-based activities using Hot Potatoes. They then created their own micro-lessons which were critiqued by Amelia T. Buan, CED AVMC Coordinator, and Julius Gregory B. Hechanova, whose micro-lesson was judged the best Philippine entry in the 4th Microsoft Regional Innovative Teachers Conference in Hanoi, Vietnam in 2008.
