The MSU-IIT’s Integrated Performing Arts Guild (IPAG) bannered the commemoration of eight years of scholarships of the Miami-based U.S. Education Finance Corporation with a full-feature performance of its well-acclaimed Tales From Mindanao.

Holding the attention of a full house at the Xavier University gym in Cagayan de Oro City last May 11, the IPAG celebrated the vibrancy of Mindanaon life with seven dance-music vignettes, a moving collage of images of three cultures to evoke what Mindanao is – the land celebrating opportunities.

The USEFC scholarship program has concentrated its presence in Mindanao particularly in the Xavier University where opportunities have been afforded to 68 scholars since the program’s inception in 2002. Besides the 23 who have already graduated from various courses, over 30 are enrolled as scholars today.

Witnessing the event was the corporation’s CEO Dr. Henry B. Howard who opened the program and distributed plaques. Howard was accompanied by his wife and a contingent from his corporation.

IPAG’s engagements, significantly, have cemented the continuing relations among universities and institutions not only in Mindanao but in the country as well.

This command performance of “Tales” jump-starts IPAG’s journey into its 33rd year with an exciting array of road shows and in-base productions.
