ALL AROUND the world, fabrication laboratories and makerspaces act as a meeting point for both natural and social sciences in the development of relevant solutions for the society.
On January 27-29, 2020, FAB LAB Mindanao of the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology and Scifablab of the International Centre for Theoretical Physics based in Trieste, Italy conducted a workshop on digital fabrication for social transformation.

Attended by the faculty members of the College of Arts and Social Sciences along with the Region 10 officers of the Department of Trade and Industry, the workshop, facilitated by Ms. Sara Sossi, developed prototypes of solutions that addressed local problems of communities in Mindanao.
Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension Jinky B. Bornales emphasized that this is only the start of the many innovative programs that aim to mainstream the Institute’s innovation ecosystem in addressing human development.
