Some of the delegates from MSU-IIT. (L-R) Prof. Angelo A. Responte, Dr. Sharon Rose M. Tabugo, Prof. Karyl Marie F. Dagoc, Dr. Annielyn D. Tampus, Prof. Carlo Stephen O. Moneva, Dr. Olive S. Anies, Mr. Mark Lloyd G. Dapar, Prof. Kimverly Hazel I. Coronel, Dr. Cesar G. Demayo, Prof. Mark Anthony I. Jose and Prof. Angeli V. Mag-aso. Seated is Prof. Ma. Reina Suzette B. Madamba.

Five faculty members of the Department of Biological Sciences (DBS) from the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) of MSU-IIT won best presenters during the 2nd International Conference on Agriculture, Biotechnology, Science and Engineering (iCABSE) 2015 and during the 2nd International Conference on Mathematics and Statistics (ICMSC) 2015 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on August 28-29, 2015 hosted by the International Postgraduate Network (IPN).

Four were selected as best presenters in ICABSE namely, Prof. Angelo A. Responte with his paper entitled “Describing Variations in the Carapace Shape of the Red-Clawed Crab Perisesarma bidens”, Prof. Carlo Stephen O. Moneva with his paper entitled “Qualitative and Quantitative Characterization of Some Common Bivalves: Polymesoda bengalensis, Codakiatigerina and Anodontiaedentula”, Prof. Lucilyn L. Maratas with her paper entitled “Aerosolized Fungal Load in Indoor Environments of Post-flood Residences of Iligan City”, and Prof. Angeli V. Mag-aso with her paper entitled “Density of Tripneustes gratilla (Linnaeus, 1758) in the Coastal Area of Binuni, Bacolod, Lanao del Norte: Potentials For Sea Urchin Grow-Out Culture”.

Dr. Cesar G. Demayo, on the other hand, was selected best presenter in International Conference in Mathematics and Statistics (ICMS) with his three papers entitled “Describing dimorphism in wing shapes in the blowfly Lucilia sericata Meigen (Diptera: Calliphoridae) using geometric morphometrics”, “Describing populations of private and public school children based on the relationships of BMI with waist circumference and weight” and Mandibular Shape Variation in the Three Species of Odontomachus Latreille 1804 (Hymenoptera: Formicidae).”

Other presenters in this same conference were Dr. Annielyn D. Tampus, Dr. Christine Cherry E. Solon, Dr. Olive S. Anies, Dr. Sharon Rose M. Tabugo, Prof. Buenaflor D. Jimenez, Prof. Vanessa Mae C. Tumang, Prof. Christina A. Barazona, Prof. Kimverly Hazel I. Coronel, Prof. Ma. Reina Suzette B. Madamba, Prof. Mark Anthony I. Jose and Prof. Karyl Marie F. Dagoc and Mr. Mark Lloyd G. Dapar, a graduate student from DBS.

A total of 18 faculty members represented the MSU-IIT five of whom i.e. Drs. Cesar G. Demayo, Christine Cherry E. Solon, Sharon Rose M. Tabugo, Prof. Mark Anthony I. Jose, and Prof. Angelo A. Responte served as session chairs in the different sessions of the IPN-conference in Ho Chi Minh City.

The papers presented will soon be published as an online issue in the following journals: Australian Journal of Basic and applied Sciences (ISI /Thomson Reuters Journal); International Journal of Applied Engineering Research (Abstract and Indexing by SCOPUS); Advances in Environmental Biology (ISI/Thomson Reuters); Journal of Applied Sciences Research (Abstract and Indexing by EBSCO HOST, CSA, AGRICOLA, Journal Seek, IndexCopernicus, Open J-gate.
