Former Vice President of MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) Manaros Boransing presented his manuscript of his memoirs of IIT to Chancellor Sukarno D. Tanggol and to the Office of Publication and Information (OPI) Acting Director Dr. Christine F. Godinez Ortega at the Office of the Chancellor on April 19, 2016.
“The IIT Story” is the working title of the manuscript. He wrote the memoirs based on his experiences as MSU-IIT’s top administrator from July 9, 1973 to March 22, 1988.
Boransing, known as the ‘father of IIT’ has been described as a visionary leader of a young Institute. Under his stewardship, he has been largely responsible for its expansion and growth.
The manuscript will be evaluated by OPI for possible publication. If published, the book of memoirs will be available to the IIT community and IIT alumni through the Alumni Office, now headed by former School of Computer Studies Dean Alquine Roy Taculin.
Boransing made a call to the employees and alumni to lend their photos about IIT so these can be digitized and used to illustrate his book and the planned book on the History of MSU-IIT.

Boransing is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He graduated with an Accountancy degree at the University of the East. He also holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Melbourne University in Australia and a Master’s in Business Economics from Reading University in the UK.
After his Vice Presidency at MSU-IIT, Boransing became Consultant on Community Relations and Development of Lake Lanao and Agus River Projects at the National Power Corp. Later, he became Manager of these projects then went on to be Department of Education Undersecretary for Mindanao Affairs.
