The faculty members of the Electronics Engineering Professors Angiline Teatro, Jefrey Pasco, Allenn Lowaton, Meriam Gay Bautista and Jefferson Hora visited the Mindanao University of Science and Technology (MUST) and Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan on July 2, 2015.

The said activity is in line with the month-long lectures Wireless Sensor Node focusing on biomedical applications by visiting professor, Dr. Eryk Dutkeiwicz from Macquarie University, Australia.

Dutkeiwicz gave lectures at MUST and at XU-Ateneo de Cagayan to the audience comprised of Electrical/Electronics engineering faculty and senior students.

Bautista, currently a PhD student of Macquarie University and an advisee of Dutkeiwicz talked about her experiences as a foreign student in Australia. She also gave insights and helpful tips regarding the scholarships currently being offered by the Macquarie University and by the Australian government.

The group led by Hora, the Electrical / Electronics/ Computer Engineering Department Chair met with MUST Engr. Diogenes Pascua, an ECE faculty and Engr. Lloyd Estampa, ECE Chair. The group also made a courtesy call on the MUST’s Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ruth Cabahug to discuss matters regarding institutional collaborations between MUST and MSU-IIT.

In the afternoon, the group proceeded to Xavier University and was received by Engr. Maijah Collado, an ECE faculty; Engr. Ian Giovanni Pabillaran, the ECE Chair and Dr. Hercules Cascon, the College of Engineering Dean.

Hora took the opportunity to introduce the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering major in Microelectronics being offered by the EECE Department. His talk aimed to invite students and faculty members to enroll in the said program.

He also discussed the Engineering Research and Development for Technology (ERDT) scholarships being offered. Lastly, he invited the ECE faculty members from MUST and XU to participate in the week-long “Analog Integrated Circuits (IC) Design Training” which will be held at the Microelectronics Lab at the College of Engineering from July 27 – July 31, 2015.
