During the culmination of the Life Saving Sports Festival dubbed the “Battle of the Titans” on May 18, 2009 at Boracay Island, Aklan, Dr. Cesar T. Miguel was among the few participants who were awarded the coveted Bronze Medallion by the Royal Life Saving (RLS) Australia and the Philippine Life Saving (PLS).

The said award was given in recognition of his performance as a life saving instructor in several life saving trainings in Northern Mindanao and for his valuable contributions during the said life saving sports festival which started on May 14 up to 18, 2009 in Boracay.

The Royal Life Saving Australia was represented by its President, Shayne Baker and Glyn Reinbott, national RLS instructor who came all the way from the land down under.

The Philippine Life Saving is a Full Member Organization of the International Life Saving Federation (ILS) and an adopted organization by the Royal Life Saving Society Australia (RLSSA).

Its goal is to reduce the high figure of drowning deaths and aquatic related incidents in the Philippines by implementing the best practiced programs in water safety, water rescue, lifeguarding and lifesaving sports.
