Health benefits derived from dancing was the come-on in the Dance Seminar-Workshop conducted last February 28, 2010 at the Developmental School Multi-Purpose Hall, MSU-IIT.
An aerobic activity, dancing provides the body with many health benefits physically and mentally, including the reduction of stress and depression and the enhancement of one’s immune system.
The seminar-workshop was organized by the MSU-IIT Master of Science in Physical Education students under the SPEAR 290 class supervised by Prof. Marzania Bucad. Also attending were physical education students of the Iligan Capitol College and the MSU-IIT Music, Arts, Physical Education and Health (MAPEH) students who studied in a class on International Folk and Social Dances.
Cecilio P. Balili III was workshop director.
The one-day seminar-workshop taught Belly Dancing, Hip Hop, and Foreign Folk Dances by these resource speakers: Ms. Rovie Gretchell Bucad (Belly Dancing), Mr. Romel Rabor (Hip Hop Dancing), Prof. Paz Enezario (Little Playmates-Foreign Folk Dance) and Prof. Edna Dalupang (Red River Valley-Foreign Folk Dance).
