CSM - Research Building Ground breaking

The College of Science and Mathematics officially broke ground on its new research building for Basic and Applied Sciences and Mathematics at a ceremony last March 5, 2014. This Php 147 M facility will be erected adjacent to the graduate student’s dormitory at the back of the College of Education and is designed to have 5 floors to house the various research laboratories of the four departments of the college: Biological Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics, Chemistry and Physics, plus a roof deck for the greenhouse.

In the groundbreaking ceremony hosted by the CSM Dean, Dr. Ferdinand Jamil, Chancellor Sukarno D. Tanggol stated in his speech that he is confident that CSM will share the research building to the other colleges to promote research collaborations within the university. The realization of the CSM research building is a big step taken towards making the institute a research university since this will answer the need for bigger workspace for researchers and rooms fit for storage of scientific equipment. The research building is anticipated to be completed on June 5, 2015.
