The ASEAN University Network/Southeast Asia Engineering Education Development Network (AUN/SEED Net) has awarded ASEAN Engr. Eulalio C. Creencia, a faculty member at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Technology, College of Engineering, a research grant to the laboratories of the Department of Environmental Science and Technology, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan.
Creencia will conduct experiments on “Coconut Shell Gasification and Low-cost Tar Removal for the Generation of Electricity” under the supervision of Prof. KunioYoshikawa on May 7, 2014, until June 5, 2014 under the Short Term Research Program in Japan (SRJP 2014).

SRJP is one of the many projects of AUN/SEED Net. Applicants come from top universities in the ASIAN region. SRJP provides a round-trip air ticket between Laguindingan Airport and Narita Airport, Tokyo, accommodation, daily allowance, and travel insurance during the stay in Japan according to the JICA Project regulations.
Creencia is the current University–Industry Linkage (UIL) point person and was responsible for the publication of the Philippine Edition of Engineering Directory for MSU-IIT as part of the promotional efforts of AUN/SEED-Net. The network is composed of 26 leading universities in 10 ASEAN countries and 14 top universities in Japan.
