The MSU-IIT College of Nursing (CON) ranked fifth among top performing schools of Nursing in the Philippines in the recently-held Nurse Licensure Examination (NLE) given by the Board of Nursing through the Professional Regulation Commission on November 25-26, 2016 with 72 passers out of 74 takers, equivalent to a 97.30% performance rating. The national passing rate for the November 2016 NLE is 47.73%.
The top performing schools had 50 or more examinees and with at least 80% passing percentage. The MSU main campus’ College of Health Sciences is also 8th in rank with 88.24% passing rate.
Jubelle May A. Sipalay, a cum laude graduate from the CON Batch Ange de Chevet 2016 took 7th place with an 85.20% rating.
The other board top passers were from St. Louis University, University of Sto. Tomas, University of the Philippines- Manila, La Salle University, New Era University, Xavier University, Central Philippine University, and the Remedios T. Romualdez Medical Foundation.
Since 2008, the CON has almost consistently produced topnotchers for the NLE: 6th place in June 2008 (Anna Mae Trinidad and Rachel Mae Daigdigan); 10th place in June 2009 (Jan Igor Galinato); 10th place in June 2012 (Denim Maghanoy); 7th place in November 2014 (Laidy Aizahlyn Angod); 4th, 7th, and 9th place in November 2015 (Stephanie Pangilinan, Joahna Jean Jabao, and Krishia Kamille Tan, respectively). The college has also occupied various spots in the top performing schools for NLE in the past years.
The recent NLE results were released 12 working days after it was conducted and 6,836 examinees made it out of the 14,322 who took the board exam in Manila, Baguio, Davao, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga. Batch Ange de Chevet took the examination at Capitol University in Cagayan de Oro City.
The University of Sto. Tomas and Benguet State University –La Trinidad are the top 1 performing schools with a 100% passing rate, St. Louis University is at top 2 with 98.94% passing rate, Mariano Marcos State University- Batac and Southern Luzon State University-Lucban are in the top 3 and top 4 slots, respectively.
