With an end in mind of coming up with a uniform syllabus format, the Curriculum and Instruction Area of the College of Education conducted a Syllabi Making-Writeshop last January 14, 2009 at the CED ICT Laboratory and WorldLinks Training Center.

Faculty of the Department of Science and Mathematics Education (DSME), Department of Industrial Technology Education (DITE), Department of Home Technology Education (DHTE), Department of Physical Education (DPE) and Department of Professional Education (DPRE) attend the one-day session on Syllabi-Making Writeshop. The session aims to give opportunity to the CED faculty members to update their syllabi following the format recommended by the AACUP Accreditors. The CED Dean, Dr. Lydie D. Paderanga has emphasized in her talk the need to come up with a uniform format for syllabi to contain the necessary components that can help the students attain effective learning. Dr. Rizalina G. Gomez, a DPRE faculty member discusses the syllabi format that the faculty should utilize.

As to the bulk of the activity, the 33 participating faculty members maximize the rest of the day modifying and refining the syllabi they have followed in their different subjects. The one-day session culminates with the presentation of revised syllabi by the representatives of the different departments: Prof. Cesar Miguel for DPE, Dr. Manuel Barquilla for DSME, Prof. Rhea Febro for DHTE, Dr. Josefina Tabudlong for DPRE, and Ms. Roxan Consolacion for DITE. Before closing the session, the participants and members of the CED Curriculum and Instruction Area headed by Dr. Myrna E. Lahoylahoy received certificates of appreciation.
