Dr. Evelyn C. Creencia, faculty member in the College of Science and Mathematics, presented her research to scientists from different parts of the world when she presented a poster entitled “Microwave-assisted Reaction: A Cleaner and More Efficient Method for the Synthesis of N-Heterocycles” at the 14th Asian Chemical Congress.
The congress (theme: “Contemporary Chemistry for Sustainability and Economic Sufficiency”) held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand last September 5-8, 2011, gathered 1,497 chemists and chemistry enthusiasts from 48 countries. Twelve participants came from the Philippines.
Nobel Laureates and experts in Chemistry and in other fields of the Physical Sciences spoke in the plenary.
Meanwhile, through Creencia, the MSU-IIT will receive a free one-month trial subscription for the online journals of the Chemical Society of Japan.
The 15th Asian Chemical Congress will be held in 2013 at the Resorts World, Sentosa Island, Singapore.
