Last October 23-24, 2008, the Mathematical Society of the Philippines of Regions 10 and 12 and the Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao gathered in the Annual Convention at the MSU-IIT Mini Theater. The convention was participated by the Regional Mathematicians and Math Educators.
In the convention, Prof. Amelia Buan, Cristina Sebandal, and Catherine Agtarap vested the Best Paper Award for Mathematics Education Category for their paper entitled, “Development and Evaluation of a Microlesson in Teaching Linear Function.” Colleagues from MSU-IIT, Dr. Myrna Lahoylahoy and Rona Magto, also presented an equally impressive paper entitled, “Computer Integrated Algebra: Effects on Students’ Conceptual Knowledge of Functions.“
The MSU-IIT Mathematicians and Math educators have once again proven their skills and expertise in this field.
