Five delegates from the College of Education joined “Touchpoint 2010: 1st International Conference on Technology in Education” at Century Park Hotel, Manila last March 4 – 5, 2010.

The two-day confab hosted by the De La Salle University dealt with some of the most recent researches and innovation on the use of ICT in learning and education presented by professors from the different parts of the globe.

Dr. Maria Spante of the Department of Technology Management and Economics of the Chalmers University of Technology was the first plenary and keynote speaker who shared her paper on “Interactivity, Visualization and Learning: Challenges and Possibilities.”

With the invited plenary speakers were Dr. Emmanuel Lallana, the Chief Executive of Idea Corp, and Prof. Keith Kirkwood of Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia. The latter tackled the topic “Participating to Learn, Learning to Participate,” which emphasized the promotion of participatory learning in the classroom.

Presenters from prestigious universities in the Philippines, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Thailand also read papers.
