Student teachers represented the College of Education (MSU-IIT) to the PAFTE 10 Student Teachers’ Congress held at Capital University, Cagayan de Oro City.
Ms. Airis Mae C. Damoag, 4th BSED Math student, was elected auditor in the 2019-2020 ASTER (Association of Students in Teacher Education Regio) 10 Officers.

CED was also given recognition for Best Practices in Curriculum, Instruction and Research Implementation. This distinction was accepted by Dr. Rizalina Gomez and Dr. Ruben Abucayon.

Moreover, the co-founder and CEO of the Frontlearner, Inc., Mrs. Maria Elaine P. De Velez, challenged the pre-service teachers to become a highly effective teacher in the 4.0 Industrial revolution (IR) Generation.
“Technology does not make people obsolete, but it does change the prerequisite for employment,” De Velez said.
Teachers need to be constantly updated by having a wide range of technological knowledge, and easy access to information like Google, MOOC, etc.
Education is now focused on the teaching of technical foundation literacy, soft skills, emotional skills, and HOT skills.

“Communication skills are also important to learn how to tell stories, learn how to sell, and to gain global citizenship,” she added.
