Twenty-two (22) faculty members in the MSU-IIT College of Education (CED) attended the 2-day training on Designing Blended/Online Classes (Module 1 of Online/Blended Classroom Training/Workshop Series) at MICEL on October 10-11, 2019.

Pool of experts Dr. Lowell G. Lucero, Dr. Roxan A. Consolacion, Asst. Prof. Osuardo A. Pabatang, Jr, Asst. Prof. J-Roel B. Semilla, Ms. Nenen S. Borinaga, and Mr. Vincent Q. Malales served as trainers in the preliminary preparation of on-line classrooms with focus on re-designing of existing syllabi, interactive content, and assessment.

This activity is an offshoot of the Top Management’s concerted efforts to contrive the MSU System Board of Regents Resolution No. 158, S.2013 granting authority to MSU-IIT to offer courses through hybrid mode, where 70% of the learning activities, at most, have been moved online and time traditionally spent in the classroom shall be reduced to 30% the least.

Although some faculty members already utilized crossbreed courses of this kind, Dr. Amelia T. Buan, CEd Dean and Dr. Cenie A. Malabanan, MICEL Director, Dr. Manuel B. Barquilla, CEd Office of the Graduate School Coordinator, prime movers of this endeavor, wereoptimistic that this pilot group were prepared to expedite learning with this approach during the second semester of school year 2019-2020.

Coming up next are batches of trainees to learn more about the 70-30 Blended/Online Classes.
