The Department of Science and Mathematics Education (DSME) of the College of Education (CED) conducted a Seminar-Workshop on Data Analysis on October 25, 2011 at the CED Amphitheatre.
The workshop, an effort to help students with their undergraduate thesis, introduced data analysis tools to those enrolled in EdSc 198 (Methods of Research) and EdSc 199 (Thesis Writing).
Prof. Amelia T. Buan, DSME faculty who is currently taking her Ph.D. in Research and Evaluation at UP-Diliman, conducted the workshop.
Mindful of software piracy issues, Buan introduced the use of open source data analysis software called PSPP which was provided to the participants for hands-on training. She also discussed the value of inferential statistics in the research process.
