The College of Education (CED) of Mindanao State University- Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) celebrated its 34th founding anniversary last January 29-30, 2019 with the theme MSU-IIT at 50: Soaring High Towards Excellence and Holistic Development.
Hosted by the Department of Technology Teacher Education (DTTE), headed by Prof. Osuardo A. Pabatang Jr., the department chairperson, the event started with a festive foot parade around the campus. It was participated by the students and the faculty members coming from the other departments namely, the Department of Science and Mathematics Education (DSME), Department of Physical Education (DPE), Department of Professional Education (DPRE), and the Integrated Developmental School (IDS).
An opening program at the MSU-IIT gymnasium followed. Vanessa Q. Jampit, a BSEd Mathematics major student, Top 6, LET 2017 gave a powerful testimony about her journey on becoming a professional teacher. Her speech inspired the CEDtizens to do their best in their studies given that the College of Education is providing the knowledge that they need.
After which, other activities such as the Laro ng Lahi commenced. Students actively participated on these events.
The celebration’s highlight is the evening socials where teachers and students flaunt their gorgeous and exquisite denim with diamonds outfit. Hon. Jesse Ray N. Balanay, BSEID Machine Shop alumnus, and Councilor, 16th Council of Iligan City was the guest of honor. Awardees and paper presenters in national and international conferences were also recognized during that memorable affair.
Finally, the anniversary ended with the singing of the Himno ng Pamantan ng Mindanao.
