The Cultural Development Office (CDO) of the Institute recently released the schedules of the 2nd phase of its Mindanao Theater Technical Workshops (MTTW) that will run from the last week of February to mid-March.
The series of trainings and workshops on the different aspects of theater operations and management will be conducted inside MSU-IIT through the collaborative efforts of the CDO, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).
CDO Director Zayda O. Macarambon said that the MTTW targets theater practitioners and industry personnel such as technicians, stage electricians, designers (lights and sounds), video makers, and production managers.
“Our facilitators are among the veterans and widely experienced theater technical operators from the CCP and of the country,” Macarambon said.
The Video Maker workshop will be facilitated by Antonio “Tony” Esteban on Feb. 27 – March 1, 2014 at the Institute Mini-Theater.
The workshop on Lights Design, Phase II will be facilitated by Felix “Monino” Duque on March 8-9, 2014 at the Mini-Theater and Gymnasium.
The workshop on Theater Sound, Phase II will be facilitated by Arnel “Doods” Manzano on March 10-11, 2014 at the Gymnasium.
The Production Management workshop will be facilitated by Carmencita “Chinggay” Bernardo on March 10-11, 2014 at the Mini-Theater.
Macarambon said that the registration fee for each workshop is P2,000 that will cover two meals (lunch), four snacks, the workshop kit, certificates and workshop cost subsidy.
Macarambon said that out-of-town participants will have to pay for their own transportation and accommodation.
