The Association of IIT Alumni Foundation, Inc. (AIITAFI) and the College of Engineering (COE) launched the Paugnat 2011 AMSU-IIT Alumni Basketball Tournament last June 3, 2011 at the MSU-IIT Gymnasium.
On its 11th year, the tournament aims to strengthen the camaraderie among the MSU-IIT alumni in Iligan City. Supporting the event is the administration of Chancellor Dr. Sukarno Tanggol that has provided free-of-charge institute facilities like the gym and its power utilities.
Competing are the teams from Newtech Pulp, Inc. (NPI), MSU-IIT Faculty and Staff, PILMICO, MSU College of Medicine, HOLCIM, Iligan Light and Power, Inc., NGCP-NPC, and Iligan Cement Corporation.
Chairperson of the tournament is Prof. Rolando Candidato Jr. assisted by Co-Chair Filchito Rence Bagsican, Prof. Alexander Mosqueda, and Dr. Ruben Menchavez of the COE, who is also the 2011 Convenor of the Alumni Homecoming.
AIITAFI President Darwin Manubag, Mark Torres, who is member of the Board of Directors, and officers of the Association attended the opening.
The awarding ceremonies of the winners of the tournament will be held during the Alumni Night on July 9, 2011, the same day when the teams shall have attended the early morning “IITians Fun Run for the Environment” around the city.
