The College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS), stepping in pace with the MSU-IIT’s vision to ensure quality education, leaves no stone unturned as the college prepares for its Level III accreditation with the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP).

After the AACCUP granted CASS a Level II status in March 2007, the college has exhausted means to accomplish the agency’s recommendations to meet the standards for the next level. This next level denotes growth and the steps the college has taken in its goal towards excellence.

Dr. Rhodora S.N. Englis, over-all chairperson of the Accreditation Steering Committee, informed this writer on the status of the on-going process. Coordinating all efforts as key hub of the accreditation preparations is CASS Dean Prof. Nora Clar.

To synchronize all activities in the process, Clar declared every Monday as accreditation day when faculty members devote efforts for the preparations.

Activities in these preparations have included discussions with Dr. Brigida Roscom, Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development, and the conduct of a Development Plan Review, which CASS facilitators held last October 7-8, 2010 at the Balay Kalinaw Foundation in Cagayan De Oro City.
